Simply A Matter Of Work is a limited* edition lasercopy print (US letter size, 100 copies) created by the artist during his final week of work in academia, following handing in notice of his resignation. The print is a reproduction of a Oblique Strategies card (Brian Eno / Peter Schmidt, 1975) that a colleague picked out at random following a conversation about overwork.
The artist makes no claim to the original content of the card depicted; that belongs to Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt as part of their Oblique Strategies (1975) card deck. However, the artist does make claim to the administrative labour that produced this print on the lasercopier** at their (then) workplace. This ‘work’ is the work being sold, and the print is evidence of that artistic labour.
This print is packaged in a ‘premium quality’ sheet protector (plastic binder wallet) and standard file classification folder to enable the document to be easily filed within your art collection.
